Feeding: Will accept all kinds of foods.
Social Behaviour: A very hardy fish that is good for beginners. Best to keep with other non-aggressive fish. No more than one male is recommended for a tank.


Up Keep: Medium sized tank with lots of plants and some surface plants.
Breeding: Reduce the water level and raise the temperature of the water then remove the female after spawning.
Comments: These fish are great for first time aquarist. They are hardy and can survive the water conditions in a new tank. Best to have only one male in a tank. A gold variety is also available in the hobby today. The Gold Gourami, a yellow colored cousin is also available.
